Enjoy a breakfast while you complete a preworkshop assessment.
9:00 a.m. Science of Energy
Learn more about the forms of energy and energy transformations while experimenting with the Science of Energy kit.
10:15 a.m. Sources of Energy and the Energy and Electricity Picture
Learn about the nation’s energy resources as they are used to generate electricity. Activities include Candy Collector, Forms to Sources of Energy, and Electric Connections.
11:00 a.m. Introduction to Offshore Wind Energy and Wind Can Do Work
Learn about offshore wind energy and build a lifting turbine. Build a lifting turbine
11:45 a.m. Lunch
12:30 p.m. Wind Can Generate Electricity, Sound Waves and Whales and More
Turn your wind lifting model turbine into a generating model. Do a fun hands on activity focusing on the bubble curtain and take part in a Offshore Wind Stakeholders activity
1:45 p.m. Wind Energy Careers
This activity will highlight careers in wind energy.
2:15 p.m. Explore the NEED Website and curriculum packet.
