10:15 a.m. Sources of Energy and the Energy and Electricity Picture
Learn about the nation’s energy resources as they are used to generate electricity. Activities include Candy Collector, Forms to Sources of Energy, and Electric Connections.
11:00 a.m. Introduction to Offshore Wind Energy and Wind Can Do Work
Learn about offshore wind energy and build a lifting turbine. Build a lifting turbine
11:45 a.m. Lunch
12:30 p.m. Wind Can Generate Electricity and Buoyancy in a Bottle
Turn your wind lifting model turbine into a generating model. Buoyancy in a Bottle will explore density, buoyancy and stability in Offshore Wind Platforms
1:45 p.m. Anchoring a Floating Wind Turbine
Explore ways floating wind turbines are anchored to the ocean floor.
2:30 p.m. Wind Energy Careers
This activity will highlight careers in wind energy.
